The fork marks the spot at Spaghetti Western. Resembling a cacti of the wild west and immortalised in neon, the signage above the front door signals the entryway into an Italo-American saloon and dining hall. Drawing on its Hollywood namesake, Spaghetti Western is dishing up a carb-loving fusion of Italian and American cuisine.
Just like a visit to Nonna’s house, Spaghetti Western promotes a traditional Italian family dining experience. It all started with the classic Spaghetti and Meatballs, two jumbo veal and pork meatballs doused in tomato sugo, red wine and parmesan atop a bed of spaghetti, but that’s not the only thing that has diners smacking their lips.
Freshly made in-house daily, the soft pillows of Gnocchi join forest mushrooms, sage, parmesan, white wine and garlic for an irresistibly earthy flavour. Rich and creamy, it’s no wonder that the restaurant is pumping out 100 kilos of the good stuff each week.
Exclusively available for weekday lunches, Spaghetti Western offer a range of Submarines. The ultimate example of the restaurant’s American influence, southern cuisine takes the front seat in The Fried Chicken sub. The sandwich sees a mouth-watering contrast between crunchy fried chicken and soft roll as well as a little kick to get tastebuds firing.
While its top notch menu and excellent service undoubtedly set the restaurant apart, they’re not the only things that are unique about the eatery. Boasting a ground floor saloon and an upstairs dining hall, visitors are spoiled for seating choice at Spaghetti Western.
Take a walk on the wild side into the saloon to be transported into a blend of NYC underground bar and western influence. Hold your horses it doesn’t stop there, with upstairs offering full table service. Head right and squeeze as many as you can into the cosmopolitan booth seating or full steam ahead for a more traditional arrangement.
No matter where you sit, eating at Spaghetti Western is eating with family. Waiters who aren’t afraid of banter, cocktails made with boisterous flair and meals served with a smile, it’s no wonder the restaurant is widely regarded the best in the west.
